OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2007. The 3rd international exhibition and conference “Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction 2007” — has set off at World Trade Center (12 Krasnopresnenskaya nab), Moscow, today, Oct 9.

The organizer of the event is INCONEX exhibition company.

The official sponsors are the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom), Rosenergoatom Concern, the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control (Rostekhnadzor), CIS Electric Energy Council, Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences of the Russian Federation.

In his address to the participants and guests of the 3rd International Exhibition and Conference “ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. POWER MACHINERY CONSTRUCTION 2007,” the Deputy Director General of IAEA, Head of Nuclear Energy Department Y.Sokolov says:

“Modern society gives increasingly high importance to the problems of non-proliferation, economical and safe use of nuclear energy and international cooperation in the nuclear power sector. International exhibitions and related events provide detailed up-to-minute information about trends and problems in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.”

In his message to the conferees the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko says: “Development of nuclear power industry is a national priority in Russia. This includes intensive construction of new nuclear power plants, enhanced guarantees of nuclear and radiation safety, active development of new technologies. This exhibition will certainly contribute to the strengthening of inter-regional and international business contacts and cooperation in the fields of science and production.”

The exhibition has already become a traditional business forum, one of the key events in nuclear power industry and machinery construction.

Over 180 leading companies from all over Russia, the CIS, Germany, France, Korea, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries are taking part in the event.

The exhibition consists of three sections: ATOMIC ENERGY, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING and POWER MACHINERY CONSTRUCTION.

The program also includes business meetings so the conferees could exchange views and discussed problems of mutual concern.

The event will last till Oct 11.
