OREANDA-NEWS. Next year there will be allotted 19 perspective fields of the Eastern Siberia. It will be done within the framework of the program of subsoil exploration and reproduction of resources base of Russia, reported the head of the Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency (Rosnedra) Aleksey Ledovskikh. We should fill it by 80 million tons and according to our expectations oil has to be there, he noted.

In 2008 investments to geological survey is expected to grow 30-40 per cent. By 2009 volume of the government financing is planned to come to RUR6.5 billion (65% up) as against current year’s index of RUR4 billion. Ledovskikh explained that at meantime huge financing resources has forwarded for investigation of these sites.  

The Minister of the natural resources Yuriy Trutnev informed on increase of government financing of geological survey operations. According to addition developed for the existing program, investments to geological surveying of subsoil of Russia will be increased 1,5 times. Following approvement of the document by the Russian Federation government total volume of government financing will amount to RUR15-16 billion.

According to Ledovskikh users of subsoil should increase investments for development, which share as of today come to RUR13 billion. Under Rosnedra’s calculation to reach the planned level, companies should invest about RUR25-30 billion annually.

According to Rosnedra, by 2015 production of oil at eastern Siberia oilfields could reach 36 million tons annually. By 2020 figures should come to 50 million tons annually and then to 80 million tons per year. To run up to the given indexes there need to prepare industrial reserves. By 2020, reserves of the industrial category CI should come to 2 billion tons, Ledovskikh resumed.

The ministry of natural resources considers necessary to accelerate development of Chayandinskoe oil field -of one of the major oil fields of the Eastern Siberia- with proven reserves of 50 million tons of oil. Initially, development of this site was planned to start on 2016. But due to planned launching of the first stage of ESPO pipeline, the Ministry deems it appropriate to shortly put up for sale oil fringe of Chanyandinskoe field.
