OREANDA-NEWS. As said the First Deputy of Chairman of the Committee on Energy, Transport and Communications V. Gorbachev at the opening ceremony of the best photo works exhibition of all-Russian competition Russian Post: yesterday, today and tomorrow held 9th of October in the World Post Day.

The exhibition devoted to the Russian postal service, its employees and the role of post in the history of our country development is held in the State Duma for the first time. It consists of the most interesting professional and non-professional photo works of the winners of the above-mentioned competition who took part in different years and stages. The photographers wanted to show the state authorities day-to-day difficult still necessary work of postal employees, remind of absorbing and non-ordinary long history.

In his welcome speech FSUE Russian Post First Deputy Director General A. Konoval thanked the Committee on Energy, Transport and Communications that they gave a chance to demonstrate the employees and customers of post views on the enterprise’s development and activities. The Chairman of All-Russian Trade Union of Postal Employees A. Nazeikin supported him and noted that post performs very important state mission. It renders socially oriented services within the territory of the Russian Federation and employs 415 thousand people.

The exhibition photos demonstrate employees’ everyday work at post, letters delivery, correspondence sorting even during the night shift and the brightest impressions of the customers: sailors leaving the ocean and throwing letters away, young couple who met on the stairs at the post office and military service men reading the letters from the relatives.

V. Gorbachev and A. Konoval held the ceremony of special cancelling of the envelopes with postal symbolics issued to the World Post Day and International Letter Week.

The State Duma of the Russian Federation was not the only one to see the postal exhibition. All the affiliated branches of Russian Post and universal postal enterprises open exhibitions, museums of postal history welcome the visitors. The ceremonies of postal stamps and envelopes cancelling are held as well.
