OREANDA-NEWS. In January-September, throughput of Commercial Seaport Olya grew over two-fold to 445,700 tonnes, Interfax reports according to Archangelsk region authorities. According to Alexander Melnikov, Director General of the port, it is planned to raise the port’s throughput to 700,000 tonnes by the end of the year.

Commercial Seaport Olya (Northern shore of the Caspian Sea) is a link of the North-South transport corridor. The port’s facilities are capable of handling 4-6 million tonnes of cargo per year. In future it is planned to raise the port’s capacity to 20 million tonnes of transit cargo.
