OREANDA-NEWS. One year passed from the start-up of the first in the CIS biotechnological complex - the project which had united a bioethanol plant with capacity of 57 thousand tons/year, feed mill, pig-breeding complex and a number of other large-capacity biotechnological manufactures - "Biohim" (Tajynsha, Kazakhstan). "Biohim" is the first of its kind industrial complex in the CIS-countries, the result of joint efforts of the Group of companies "Titan" and Open Company "Basko", Kazakhstan, the Titan press service reports. Realization of the project was possible with the state support of the Kazakhstan Government.

The first year of the work was summed up at the enterprise this week - all technical problems with starting of non-standard equipment were eliminated lately; new working technology was created; two mills, three technological branches (gluten, fermentation), boiler-house started to work. Now, the factory is capable to operate at 100 % and is completely provided with raw material. The integrated poultry farm works at full capacity. At the end of September a meat-preparing shop was put into operation, and a new meatpacking plant will be handed over to operation in the 1st quarter of 2008. At the pig-breeding complex, construction of the areas for feeding manufacture comes to an end (by the end of the current year, pig-breeding complex will operate at designed capacity). Preparatory and prospecting works on feed mill are fully finished;  Contracts for all kinds of the equipment for feed mill are concleded; contractors have started their manufacturing.

More than three hundred young experts work now at "Biohim". The opening of "Biohim" was a sign event in the CIS-countries and in Russia. The example of the Kazakhstan first-born was an incitement for development of the initiative in the Russian regions - this year a number of Governors and heads of the companies have declared intentions to construct enterprises for bioethanol and biodiesel production on the territory of Russia.
