OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2007. The power supply to “Nikolskaya” substation (Gagarin district of Smolensk region) which transports power to livestock complex (former Radischev farm), cut off due to negative weather conditions, was restored as JSC “Smolenskenergo” (JSC “IDGC of the Center” service area) Grids Maintenance Center informed.

The power supply to Gagarin district was restored excluding three populated areas with furnace heating and shaft water supply. The power supply to socially significant units of Gagarin was restored.

As previously stated 110-35 kV power equipment in Smolensk region was cut off due to the heavy snow, gale force wind and falling trees. 22 35-110 kV aerial lines and 35 35-110 kV substations were cut off. The majority of technical failures occurred in the Eastern part of Smolensk region. The city of Gagarin and Gagarin district were damaged the most.
