OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2007. JSC “Smolenskenergo” maintenance crews accomplished activities on 35-110 kV HVL. Yesterday maintenance personnel started to restore power supply in 6-10 kV and 0,4 kV grids in regions damaged by the natural disaster.

At 10:00 a.m. on October 10, 2007 all 110 kV substations were powered, 110 kV aerial lines were switched on as JSC “Smolenskenergo” Grids Maintenance Center informed. On October 16, 2007 the power supply to 110 kV HVL #170 was restored and increased the reliability of power supply scheme of Eastern connection point with Moscow power system. In the nearest future it is planned to power ten 35 kV HVL and one 35 kV substation, the consumers of which are connected to the reserve scheme.

The power supply to Gagarin district consumers, which suffered most from the natural disaster, was restored on October 10, 2007. At the moment, the activities on restoring power supply to 6-10 kV and 0,4 kV distribution grids and on powering underpopulated areas in Vyazemsky district of Smolensk region (Eastern connection point of Smolensk power system) are being held. 67 6-10 kV TS were powered during last night, the power supply was restored completely.

As previously stated, on October, 14 110-35 kV power equipment in Smolensk region was cut off due to the heavy snow, gale force wind and falling trees. 22 35-110 kV aerial lines and 35 35-110 kV substations were cut off. The majority of technical failures occurred in the Eastern part of Smolensk region.

The work on restoring power supply will be continued round the clock until the power supply to all JSC “Smolenskenergo” consumers will be restored. Further development is in our news.
