OREANDA-NEWS. On October 18, 2007 UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announced its production and summary financial results for the first nine months of 2007, reported the press-centre of UC RUSAL.

Highlights
Alumina production rose by 5,7% to 8,451,791 tonnes compared to the same period last year.
Aluminium production increased by 5% to 3,104,847 tonnes.
Output of high value-added casthouse products improved by 13,6% and its share of total production reached 52%.
Foil production increased by 25,4%.
Overall investment for the first nine months of 2007 amounted to over USD 2,2 billion.
Investment into expansion, reconstruction, modernization and technical refurbishing of existing facilities amounted to approximately USD 1,1 billion.

Commenting on the results, Alexander Bulygin, CEO, United Company RUSAL said: “These robust results demonstrate that UC RUSAL has successfully completed the integration of our assets, while the new projects we have initiated open the next stage of the company’s development as energy and metals corporation. Our efforts are focused on the construction of the technologically advanced plants which will enable us to increase aluminium production up to 6 million tonnes by 2013, and alumina refining to up to 17 million tonnes.  At the same time, we will continue to build our own low cost, diversified energy base.  We also plan to expand our operations by building new plants in Asia and South America.”
