OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2007. The 3rd International Forum Russian Power Industry: End of Monopoly - Opportunities for Strategic and Portfolio Investors is taking place at the International Trade Centre in Moscow. The forum is organised by C5, an international organisation for holding business conferences. The event is divided into two sections: master classes that took place.

A report was delivered by IES-Holding President Mikhail Slobodin. The title of his report is An Assessment of the Role of Private Business in the Russian Power Industry Now and after 30 June, 2008: the Vision of a Strategic Investor. The IES-Holding president paid special attention to prospects of growth in value for assets in the power industry at the last stage of the reorganisation of the sector, competition in the power market, and development of a balance between government and market interests.

A master class titled Project Funding in the Russian Power Industry was held by Igor Golubev, director general of IES Energy Solutions. Besides, a report as part of the master class was delivered by Andrei Abramov, vice president for strategy and development and head of the strategic planning department at CJSC IES.
