OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2007. The Central Research Institute for Machine Building (TsNIIMASH) has joined Atomny Energopromyshleny Kompleks (Atomenergoprom) holding, reports the press service o the holding.

Atomenergoprom has got a 50% stake plus one share in the company. Thus, already 28 of the 31 enterprises that are to be incorporated into Atomenergoprom have joined the holding.

At the initial stage the holding is to receive the shares of the world’s leading nuclear companies TVEL and Techsnabexport (Tenex). The establishment of Atomenergoprom is to be finished by the end of this year. Atomenergoprom is supposed to design, build, operate, maintain, modernize and decommission nuclear power plants, radiation sources and nuclear materials and radioactive matters storage facilities.

The holding is also supposed to carry out research and to introduce new technologies in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy, to build and operate nuclear power plants in Russia and abroad, to produce electricity and heat, to mine mineral resources containing nuclear materials and radioactive matters, to enrich uranium and other materials, to produce fuel elements and assemblies, to export and import products and services related to the use of nuclear energy.
