OREANDA-NEWS. Atomstroyexport is ready to take part in the tender for the construction of nuclear power plant in Belarus as strategic partner or organizer of the whole process, the vice president of the company Alexander Glukhov told journalists in Minsk, reported the press-centre of Atomstroyexport.

As far as Glukhov knows, the Byelorussian Government will shortly appear with an official decision to build an NPP in the country. The responsibility for the preparatory stage will be supposedly distributed among different organizations.

Glukhov said that Belarus was planning to build four rather than two 1,000MW units. The launch of one KWh of a 2,000MW NPP will cost $2,000-3,000. “We could help in the process by employing the capacities of our state banks and export support system,” Glukhov said.

The construction of the 1st 1,000MW unit will take 5,5 years, the construction of the 2nd unit will take much less time - just one year - so, the total project will last for 6,5 years. The construction of the next units will take even shorter periods and will be less costly.
