OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2007.Within the framework of three-days business meeting Directors of Far East post offices of Russian Post, Heads of Directorates and Departments of FSUE Russian Post discussed the achievements, problems and perspectives of postal service in the regions of FED. The event was arranged for the employees of Far East and was held in Vladivostok. It lasted till 19th of October.

Opening the conference FSUE Russian Post Deputy Director General Gennadiy Kotov noted that FED is the most troublesome region concentrated difficult-to-access regions including Yakutia, Chukotka, Sakhalin sometimes enabling avia connection only. Nevertheless the region has modern technical equipment and considered to be very promising.

In general the participants traced positive dynamics for postal development in the Far East. The demand for new services in post offices grows, among them loan payment and banking credits, cellular communications payment, utilities payment, money orders and Internet services. Enlarging the range of commercial services affiliated branches in the Far East District pay attention to simultaneous developing of both universal postal services as correspondence delivery and Internet access.

However Far East region is among the leaders in implementing IT-technologies in postal network, including remote regions, operators’ working places upgrading, Internet services development in public access outlets. Recently Primorskiy territory opened 309 public access outlets for almost 600 working places.

Closing the conference Gennadiy Kotov said he is sure that resuming results of work on affiliated branches in Russia and cooperation with remote departments of the enterprise helps to solve many current problems in the regions.
