OREANDA-NEWS. By 2015, Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP OJSC) plans to double its turnover with Japan, the port’s press center reports. In January-September the turnover between VMTP and Japan totaled 566,900 tonnes including 115,400 tonnes of export, 451,600 tonnes of import. In 2007, import consisted mainly of passenger cars (117,552), cargo automotive equipment (1,215), other equipment (4,251). In the 9-month period, turnover between VMTP and Japan accounts for 22.7% of total VMTP turnover, 36.5% of total import, 9.2% of total export. Equipment and transport accounts for 76.9% of the port’s turnover with Japan. Export consists mainly of cellulose (49.6%) and sawn timber (24.2%). 

Vladivostok Commercial Seaport OJSC is one of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. It specializes in handling of dry and liquid bulk cargo, timber and general cargo including containers.
