OREANDA-NEWS. On October 26, 2007 the 51st conference of the chief engineers of the Russian nuclear power plants took place at Beloyark NPP (Zarechny, Sverdlovsk region) under the chairmanship of the deputy director general-technical director of Rosenergoatom Concern Nikolay Sorokin, reported the press-centre of Rosenergoatom.

Among the conferees were the deputy director general-director for personnel management and social policy of Rosenergoatom Concern Jumberi Tkebuchava, the head of the Ural Inter-regional Territorial Office of Rostekhnadzor A.Khomyakov, the deputy director of the IAEA OSART program Gabor Vamos, the chief engineers of all the ten Rosenergoarom NPPs as well as Armenian NPP (Armenia) and Zaporizhia NPP (Ukraine), deputy technical directors and heads of departments of Rosenergoatom Concern, managers of Atomenergoproekt, VNIIAES, Hydropress, NIKIET, Kurchatov Institute, Atomtekhenergo and Atomenergoremont, Diacs.

The conferees summed up the results of Jan-Sept 2007 and discussed the tasks for the autumn-winter 2007–2008. They exchanged experience in how to safely operate nuclear power plants, discussed the results of Rosenergoatom’s cooperation with IAEA, particularly, in the framework of OSART missions, considered ways to prevent on-site injuries and to train professional personnel.
