OREANDA-NEWS. On October 25, 2007 LUKOIL Overseas represented by the subsidiary undertaking LUKOIL Uzbekistan, an operating company implementing PSA under Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad project, has provided charity support to the boarding school No. 123 for hard of hearing children in Bukhara (Republic of Uzbekistan), reported the press-centre of LUKOIL Overseas.

In particular, children were provided with 200 hearing aid devices manufactured by Uzbek-German JV and certified by the Republican Ministry of Public Health. The children also got home cinema, fitness equipment and hardware as well as sweet gifts. Total volume of charity support equaled to 45 thousand USD.

The solemn ceremony was followed by a concert, participated by professional artists as well as schoolchildren. Children also expressed their gratitude by presenting gifts – souvenirs made with their own hands.

Charity is the most significant component of the Social Code of LUKOIL and the essential part of the company's operations in Uzbekistan. Today the company is entering the crucial phase implying preparation for commercial operations at Khauzak gas field, which are to be started by the end of the year.
