OREANDA-NEWS. Within the next two years Mogilev carriage works will increase its production capacities to produce up to 1,100 freight cars a year, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky told reporters after a visit to the company during his working trip to the Mogilev oblast, reported the Official website www.government.by.

The Prime Minister noted that Belarus has been setting up a new industry which has been gradually and purposefully developing. Now the company imports the vast part of components, but in the next two years it is set to produce 50%-60% of components. About $35 million will be invested in the upgrade of the company to raise its production capacities.

There is great demand for open wagons and freight cars transporting minerals in the market. In 2009, when the factory will be used to the maximum, the demand for freight cars in Belarus will be satisfied. Mogilev carriage works will also export part of the output, the Prime Minister said.

Mogilev carriage works was registered in March 2005 with 60% of shares belonging to BelAZ and 40% of shares - to Russian capital.
