OREANDA-NEWS. Russia’s large oil transshipment port promises to continue export of oil products even if trade unions start a strike on November 5, RusEnergy informs. Earlier, trade unions of Tuapse and Sea Port of St. Petersburg controlled by Vladimir Lisin, owner of Novolipetsk Steel, announced their intent to strike if dock workers are not paid the wages. The results of the negotiations are to be known November 1.

According to Elena, Oganesyan, press secretary of Commercial Seaport of Tuapse, “the technology does not require participation of dock workers in shipment of oil and oil products. Shipment of such cargo requires only participation of the port fleet workers, who are not allowed to strike under RF legislation as a category responsible for the port safety”. The port of Tuapse annually exports 14.5 million tonnes of heavy fuel oil, diesel fuel, petrol and gas oil from Tuapse Refinery owned by state-controlled Rosneft. The port also exports 5.5 million tonnes of grain, coal and ferrous metal from Novolipetsk Steel.
