OREANDA-NEWS. November 1, 2007. To accomplish the commission of the President of Azerbaijan Republic to increase the gas production in the fields within SOCAR, Oil and Gas Construction Trust started constructing 20-inch “Neft Dashlary”-“Bahar” gas pipeline, which is going to be one of the biggest objects of the year. A transportation capacity of the 67-km long pipeline is 5.5 million cubic meters per day.

The pipeline is intended to transport increasing gas volume produced in “Gunashli” to shore. The customer of the pipeline is “28 May” OGED, the contractor is Oil and Gas Construction Trust, and the subcontractor is “McDermott” company. The pipe-lay ship named after Israfil Huseynov welds and lays the pipelines.

 The pipe-lay ship is served by the ships of Caspian Oil Fleet. Documentations of the object was elaborated by Oil and Gas Projects Institute of SOCAR. The pipeline will be the third one on the same route and will be constructed in 50-100 meter far from the pipeline built by the Trust 3 years ago. Constructors have already examined the submarine route. The depth of water is between 10 and 30 meters in the construction area. Pipes were purchased from Greece and they are cast with concrete at local “EUPEC” plant. The pipeline will be placed into commission by the end of the year.
