OREANDA-NEWS. November 2, 2007. JSC Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant /ZMP/, part of the Group of companies “Electric Steel of Russia” /ESTAR, Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region/, began the implementation of the project to increase the capacity of the arc-furnace melting shop of the enterprise from 5,800 to 7,000 t of steel per month.

As Inna Gladysheva, the spokesperson of the plant, informed PRIME-TASS, the costs of the project implementation will amount to about 29 mln rubles. The second arc-furnace is to be put into operation in the arc-furnace melting shop No.2 prior to the end of 2007. For this purpose the enterprise has purchased a new steel-casting crane with the elevating capacity of 36 t for over 15 mln rubles.

Prior to the end of the year it is planned to purchase another crane with the elevating capacity of 10 t for the auxiliary aisle of the shop and an ingot carrier; put a baling press into operation to process stainless steel scrap in the drop-hammer plant No.2.

The program of increasing production of the arc-furnace melting shop No.2 is part of the general program of enterprise reconstruction. Its main element is the construction of New Zlatoust Electrometallurgical Plant on the territory of the Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant (ZMP). The project’s investment value exceeds ? 75 mln.
