OREANDA-NEWS. On October 30, 2007 the Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ, St. Petersburg) completed the overhaul of passenger coaches for Alexander Nevsky tourist train. The coaches were shipped to the JSC RZD, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The OEVRZ engineers carried out overhaul and reequipment of seven coaches. The train will be made up of 12 coaches. Three 47-K series coaches, a staff compartment passenger coach, a laundry car, and a service car were given KR-1 type repairs with the service car housing a shower cabin for servicemen. Another coach underwent an SV-1 type repairs performed based on technical documents worked out by Magistral scientific and production centre.

The staff compartment passenger coach was fitted with a global satellite communications system, the passenger coaches are given TV and audio systems, a monoblock air conditioning system, shower cabins, glass panes, and environment friendly Ekotol-B WCs. To provide better passengers’ safety the coaches are fitted with video monitoring systems, all compartments have burglar alarms and magnet locks.

The Alexander Nevsky coaches required a number of techniques the plant has never performed before, e.g., mounting and adjustment of a global satellite communications and burglar systems.

The contract for the overhaul performed was concluded in July 2007.
