OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky will pay a brief visit to Krasnoyarsk, the Russian Federation, on November 4 this year, reported the Official website www.government.by.

The visit’s agenda includes a meeting with Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Khloponin. The meeting will focus on the further development of cooperation, first of all, in export and industry and discuss the prospects of boosting Belarusian trade-economic activity in the regions of Siberia.

In January-August 2007 the trade between the Republic of Belarus and the Krasnoyarsk Territory totaled $52,4 million, up 51,1% over the same period last year. Belarus’ export grew by 55,3% up to $38,3 million, imports upped by 41% to reach $14,1 million. The trade surplus made up $24,1 million and increased 1,65 times, or $9,5 million as against January-August 2006.

Belarus’ export to the Krasnoyarsk Territory is divided into two major groups: machine-building and oil-chemical products, i.e. tractors, tires, trucks, minibuses, inorganic chemistry products. The Krasnoyarsk Territory also imports Belarusian bulldozers, agricultural hardware, organic chemical compounds. Consumer goods include furniture, wallpaper and butter.

Belarus mainly imports timber and products of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy: aluminium, copper, nickel.
