OREANDA-NEWS. Methodological seminar for teachers of physics, chemistry and biology of St.Petersburg and Leningrad region will take place at State Educational Center (St.Petersburg) on Nov 6 2007, reported the press-centre of Rosatom.

Rosatom’s Regional Center for Public Information in the North-Western region and the Public Council of Rosatom are implementing a number of educational projects aimed at enhancing public awareness of the development of the nuclear power industry of Russia.

On Nov 6 2007 the Center will conduct a methodological seminar for teachers of physics, chemistry and biology of St.Petersburg and Leningrad region — “Use of Nuclear Energy and Radiation Safety Guarantees.”

In 2007–2008, in the framework of the “School: Nuclear Energy and Technologies” program, school-leavers from St.Petersburg and Leningrad region will visit universities training specialists for the nuclear power industry, take part in a contest of essays, visit the exposition of the Regional Center for Public Information and meet with nuclear power engineers.

The latter will tell them about the history of the national nuclear power industry.
