By 2015, it is planned to transport 35 million tonnes of cargo by other types of transport. According to Mr. Dvas, the throughput of the port will make 10 million tonnes in 2007; 15 million tonnes in 2008; 28 million tonnes in 2009; 52 million tonnes in 2010. He also noted that the project on establishment of light industry enterprises around Ust-Luga to meet the needs of the yet-to-appear port town is likely to face certain problems related to lack of personnel.
