OREANDA-NEWS. In January-September 2007 the companies of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Gomel-Raton manufactured products and services worth of Br341,8 billion what in comparable prices 28% up over the same period last year, BelTA learnt from the FEZ administration, reported the press-centre of Gomel-Raton.

Over the period, the proceeds from the sales of goods and services reached Br342,6 billion including Br334.1 billion from the sales of the domestic production.

The proceeds from the export of goods and services taking into account the import-replacing products supplied to the domestic market made up 90,4% of the total proceeds of the sales in January-September 2007.

Over the nine months, Gomel-Raton companies received Br29,2-billion investments to the fixed capital, 35% up as against the same period of 2006. Foreign investments totaled $5,8 million, including direct investments worth of $4,6 million.

In January-September 2007 FEZ companies paid Br38,1-billion taxes, duties and other payments to the budget and non-budgetary funds, 38,6% up from the same period of 2006.

Over the nine months of 2007 FEZ foreign trade reached $171,4 million (54% up over January-September 2006).

Over the period, Gomel-Raton companies set up 406 new working places. As of October 1, 2007 the workforce amounted to 7,1 thousand people. The FEZ Gomel-Raton was founded by Presidential Decree #93 of March 2, 1998. It includes production, export and free customs zones. So far Gomel-Raton has registered 34 residents.
