OREANDA-NEWS. On November 09, 2007 the signing of the agreement between the Russian Railways’ subsidiary TransTeleCom and the Chinese company Huawei Technologies took place in the presence of Alexander Zhukov, Russia’s deputy prime minister, and Wu Yi, deputy prime minister of China’s Council of State, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
 
The agreement provides for the further development of links between the two communications companies and the exchange of experience between the Russian and Chinese sides.

“This is a framework agreement about strategic partnership, and we hope that it will help us improve our joint positions on the market," said Sergey Lipatov, president of TransTeleCom.

Huawei Technologies is the main producer of telecommunications equipment in China and a long-standing partner of and a supplier of equipment to TransTeleCom.

With the aid of Huawei, TransTeleCom built an advanced DWDM network of over 23,000 km and the only NGN national network in Russia, enabling TransTeleCom to provide long-distance communication services.
