OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2007. The development of the banking system of Germany and Ukraine, dwelling mortgage crediting in Ukraine, support for small- and mid-sized businesses in Ukraine and perspectives for the development of mechanisms to support export-import operations in Ukraine were discussed at a meeting between Ukrainian Economics Minister Anatoliy Kinakh and a Deutsche Bank delegation, the minister's press service reported.

As Kinakh stressed, Germany is the leader in terms of investments to Ukraine, still he said, there are many ways to deepen cooperation in high technologies, energy, engineering, metallurgy, coal industry, transport, infrastructure development, realization of scaled economic projects, in which cooperation with Deutsche Bank is needed.

Ukraine is interested in establishment of efficient cooperation with Germany in environment protection and projects aimed at implementing the Kyoto Protocol, Kinakh said.

The meeting also focused on German experience in application of corporate norms and standards and development of credit offices in Ukraine.

The bank representatives expressed their intent to open the bank's office in Ukraine after Ukraine joins the WTO.
