OREANDA-NEWS. The 10th Anniversary Dubai Airshow - Dubai'2007 is to be held at the Airport Expo in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 11 to 15, 2007, reported the press-centre of Rosoboronexport.

Supported by the Dubai Government, Department of Civil Aviation and the UAE Armed Forces, this biannual exhibition is one the world's largest air shows dating back to 1989. The Dubai Airshow is gathering momentum dynamically. The exhibits displayed there embrace a wide range of armament and equipment available to air forces and air defense troops. It displays space equipment, civil aviation and technologies.

In recent years, this exhibition has turned into one of the most significant events for the Middle East countries. To raise the prestige of their country in the region and worldwide, the UAE's Supreme Military and Political Leaders emphasize the importance of the Dubai Airshow.

Russia has taken part in all of the previously held Dubai Airshows. As for the Rosoboronexport State Corporation, Russian major exporter of defense products, it will take part in the exhibition for the sixth time.

Under the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Rosoboronexport State Corporation is the organizer of Russian national exposition at the aerospace exhibition in Dubai. Along with Rosoboronexport, Russian exposition will include the Federal Space Agency, "Sukhoi Company" (JSC), "Russian Aircraft Corporation "MiG" (FSUE), "Moscow machine-building production enterprise “Salut" (FSUE), "Beriev Aircraft Company", "Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern" (JSC), "Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation" (JSC), "Perm Motor Building Complex" Managing Company" (JSC), "Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant" (JSC), "Aviaexport" (JSC), "Kazan Helicopter Plant" (JSC), "Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant" (JSC), etc.

Russian exposition takes into account the latest tendencies of the aviation market. Its objectives include demonstration of the high research and production potential of the aerospace segment of Russia's economy. A wide range of modern fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and their armament, air defense systems, products and services available to clients in the field of military, dual- and civil-purpose space technologies will be presented to visitors in the form of models, mockups, posters and information and advertising materials.

In the recent years the aircraft market has been on the upswing. On the average, the world's annual sales of military fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft amount to USD25 – 27 billion and the tendency for them to grow remains. Russia's position on the international aircraft building market is stable. The Rosoboronexport State Corporation is acquiring more and more partners in military technical cooperation programs. Two years ago Rosoboronexport had business ties with 60 countries. This year, the figure has grown to 80. The portfolio of orders currently available to Rosoboronexport is enough to load aircraft manufacturers for five to seven years to come.

The multifunctional fighters manufactured by such world-famous companies as "Sukhoi" and "MiG" (these aircraft are major items of Russian aircraft exports) will hold center-stage in the exposition along with other top-notch products. Fighter-aircraft of the Su-30 family have been exported to India, China, Venezuela, Indonesia and Malaysia, where they have made up the core of the national air forces. Russian MiGs are also competitive. Contracts made so far plus the activities aimed to promote the MiG-35 multifunctional front-line fighter to the Indian market in conditions of tough competition with leading European and American aircraft manufacturers point to this fact.

The range of models of the Sukhoi fighters is represented by generation "4+" Su-27SKM and Su-30MK2 multifunctional fighters which constitute the lion's share in Russian exports of military aircraft and by the Su-32 fighter-bomber. At Russian exposition, visitors will familiarize themselves with technical and performance characteristics of the Su-35 fighter – the latest Russian-made super-maneuverable multifunctional fighter.

The MiG fighters are represented at Dubai Airshow'2007 by the MiG-29M vectored-thrust fighter featuring the unique aerodynamic characteristics. It will participate in daily demonstration flights in the sky over Dubai. The MiG-family fighters will also include the MiG-29SMT, MiG-29K ship-based fighter developed specifically for Indian Navy and the MiG-29KUB (ship-based) and MiG-AT trainers.

Foreign experts will undoubtedly be interested in the Yak-130 two-seat combat trainer allowing pilots to acquire and master flight handling skills for modern fighters of Su-30/MiG-29 type, as well as their foreign counterparts, such as Mirage 2000, F-15, F-16, Eurofighter Typhoon, F-22, and F-35. The aircraft can be used both for flight training and delivering air strikes in low-intensity armed conflicts. The Yak-130 can be armed with air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles.

At the Dubai Airshow'2007, the Rosoboronexport State Corporation together with the leading Russian helicopter manufacturers, demonstrates a whole line of helicopters and provides the requisite information about their airborne and ground-based equipment, maintenance services and training facilities.

The "Mi"-family helicopters will be represented primarily by the Mi-28NE "Night Hunter" new all-weather attack helicopter, Mi-35, Mi-35P and Mi-35M combat transport helicopters, Mi-171Sh and Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopters and finally by the Mi-26 heavy-lift, or rather the world’s heaviest-lift, transport helicopter.

The "Ka"-family helicopters will be represented by the Ka-50 two-seat version, Ka-60 multi-purpose helicopter, Ka-31 radar-picket helicopter, Ka-28 ship-based antisubmarine warfare helicopter and by the Ka-27PS search and rescue version.

Russia has always been and remains one of a few countries in the world capable of developing and manufacturing the entire spectrum of air defense equipment independently. A distinguishing feature of Russian developments in this field is that they embody the unique design and technological solutions. At Dubai Airshow'2007, the Rosoboronexport State Corporation will display the most up-to-date air defense systems, some of which are unique. These systems include the S-300PMU2 ("Favorit"), S-300VM ("Antey-2500"), Buk-M2E, Tor-M2E, "Tunguska-M1", etc. Radioelectronic warfare have bright prospects on the international market as well. Various systems complementary to one another are offered to clients worldwide.

The Buk-M2E medium-range air defense missile complex attracts much attention of our potential customers. This complex reliably protects troops, military installations, as well as administrative and industrial centers from heavy attacks by modern and future air attack weapon systems in the presence of severe countermeasures. This complex is capable of engaging up to 24 targets simultaneously approaching from different directions and flying at altitudes from 14 m to 25 km and, more to that, it can be used against water surface and ground-based radar-contrast targets.

Russia is a leading space power. This year, we mark 50 years from the date the first Russian artificial Earth satellite was launched. In Dubai, Russia will demonstrate its achievements in such fields as space exploration, satellite navigation, communications and space information systems. It is significant that cooperation with foreign partners in space programs becomes more and more important for Rosoboronexport. Military, non-military and dual-purpose space vehicles have been placed successfully in near-Earth orbits for Great Britain, European Space Agency, Italy, China, Nigeria, Turkey, Germany, Sweden, Republic of Korea and other countries. Russian exposition in Dubai will include mockups of existing and future space launch vehicles, both military and non-military, which can be used to place any space vehicle in any orbit.

One of Rosoboronexport's prospective lines of cooperation with foreign partners in space programs is the production of space vehicles and conduct of research, design and development work for them to create satellite system components. In October 2007, under the contract signed by Rosoboronexport with the Government of Malaysia for the delivery of latest
Su-30MKM fighters, Russian specialists prepared the flight of Malaysia's first astronaut to the International Space Station and launched the manned space vehicle successfully. Rosoboronexport offers foreign customers stationary and mobile ground-based stations designed to receive and process Earth observation information gathered by military and non-military satellites.

The Rosoboronexport State Corporation is confident that Russian delegation at the Dubai Airshow'2007 will promote further development of mutually beneficial relations between the Russian Federation and other countries in the field of aviation and space exploration and will open up new horizons to Russian aircraft manufacturers in the field of cooperation with other countries in research, technology and production areas.
