OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2007. Responding to the changes in the Lithuanian money market, DnB NORD Bankas will pay higher interest for deposits. Deposits in litas placed via internet will enjoy the highest interest increase – the average rate will go up by 0,8 percentage point on the average, reported the press-centre of DnB NORD.

Starting November 12 AB DnB NORD Bankas will increases interest for term, cumulative and universal deposits in litas by 0,6 percentage point on average, e.g. the interest for one-year term deposits in litas will increase to 5,00 percent from 4,40 percent. The rate for a similar deposit placed via DnB NORD Internet Banking system will go up to 5,20 percent.

„We upgraded our internet banking system adding more functionalities so now we aim to encourage our customers to use more actively a wider spectrum of DnB NORD Bankas financial services online,“ says Raimondas Kutra, Manager of DnB NORD Bankas Retail Banking Department.

As of Monday DnB NORD Bankas will pay 0,2 percentage point higher interest for deposits in Euros on average, whereas similar deposits placed via internet will bear yet 0,2 percentage point higher interest, so the interest for one-year term deposits in Euros in DnB NORD bankas will increase to 3,9 percent from 3,5 percent.
