OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2007. Nutritek Group (“Nutritek” or “the Group”; RTS, MICEX: NTRI), the leading Russian producer of baby food products, today announced the completion of New Zealand milk processing plant (New Zealand Dairies Limited) and beginning of the commercial operation. 
The plant is located in Canterbury district of New Zealand’s southern island, considered to be one of the best raw milk producing areas in the world. The plant’s milk processing capacity is 120 thousand tonnes per year. It will produce 18 thousand tonnes of milk powder per year, as well as grown up milk base and infant formula base to be sold at South-East Asian markets.

In 2007 the Nutritek Group invested US$60 million in debt and equity into the plant’s construction. The commissioning of the plant is part of the Nutritek Group’s strategy of baby food business expansion in South-East Asia.
