OREANDA-NEWS. On November 16, 2007 Chairman of Isuzu Motors Ida Yoshinori and Itochu Corporation president for automobile building Furuta Takanobu made a visit in Uzbekistan, reported the Official website www.gov.uz.

On 16 November, they held talks vice prime ministers of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov and Kuvondik Sanakulov.

The negotiations touched upon issues of cooperation between Samarkand automobile plant SamAuto and Isuzu Motors, in particular, expansion of production and development of new projects.

Isuzu Motors is the world’s largest bus, truck and diesel motor producing company, supplying its products to more than 130 countries.

Itochu is a large trade company operating in virtually all fields of economy, including the car building, textile and food industries and the financial sector.

In January 2007, SamAuto and Isuzu Motors signed a Technical Assistance Agreement, in accordance with which production of two models of buses and three models of trucks was launched at the Samarkand plant.

More than 1,000 Isuzu vehicles were produced at the plant in the 10 months of its operation.

On the results of the negotiations, Uzavtosanoat, SamAuto, Isuzu Motors and Itochu signed an Agreement on strategic cooperation.
