OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2007. JSC IDGC of the Center and dependent DGCs held Quality Days within the framework of the European Quality Week arranged annually on the initiative of the biggest international organizations on standards and quality supported by the UN, the company's press service reported.

Various events were on the program of the Quality Days.  Thus, many dependent DGCs held a scientific and practical seminar on "Integrated Management Systems as a Guarantee of Successful Business".

The targets, steps of Quality Management System (QMS) introduction and some results of what had been achieved were discussed there, as well as optimization of information exchange inside the distribution grid companies, and between the DGCs and JSC IDGC of the Center the managing company.

"Such days are held in order to draw attention of both the personnel and consumers to the essence of the quality issue. After all, it includes not only safety and reliability of power supply, but above all meeting of the needs and expectations of the consumers," said Elena Samarina, the main specialist of the Process Maintenance and QMS Department of JSC IDGC of the Center.

Presently, all distribution grid companies of JSC IDGC of the Center service area are launching the Quality Management System. Production processes were described with modern tools and modelling methods.

It is necessary to mention that business process description is the first step in introducing a process approach as a QMS key element. The preparations for internal QMS auditing on conformity with MC ISO 9001:2000 standards are being made. 

Launching the QMS project shall result in a positive resolution of the certification body on the implemented QMS conforming with international standards. Moreover, one can sense the effect of automation of DGC business processes, which is presently taking place along the lines of the processor approach.
