On November 23, Russia's magazine Itogi, Fitch Ratings, together with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Businessmen held a Day of Banker with a Big Money award ceremony, TuranAlem's press service reported. Bank TuranAlem has been named the Bank of the Year in CIS 2007 as it posted the best performance this year.

Earlier, Bank TuranAlem was named the Bank of the Year in CIS 2006.

Representatives of the professional banking community have chosen the winners casting votes in the Itogi’s questionnaires.

The award and summation of 2007 performance as well as new composite ratings for Russian lending institutions and biggest CIS banks from Fitch Ratings gave occasion to the grand meeting of bankers.

Chief executives of over 80 biggest Russian banks and lending institutions from the CIS countries, chiefs of the Federal Service of Financial Monitoring, Federal Service of Financial Markets, banking associations, representatives of Russian president’s administration have attended the festivity. Chairman of the management board Roman Solodchenko has represented Bank TuranAlem.

Bank TuranAlem JSC received an honorary diploma Sign of the Commonwealth on November 22 in Moscow within the 10th Eurasian Teleforum as a laurel of its distinct business reputation and compleat professionalism and its chairman of management board Roman Solodchenko received order Sign of the Commonwealth for distinguished merits in the reinforcement of mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

The Sign of the Commonwealth Order is a public award established by the International Center of Cooperation. It is awarded to outstanding figures for personal merits and chiefs of companies and organizations of various levels and forms of ownership for significant achievements in international relations with the economic community of CIS member nations.

Bank TuranAlem JSC (BTA) is among largest banks and leader in creation of banking network within CIS. According to tentative data, BTA consolidated assets soared by 47.4% over the first nine months of the year making USD24.087 million as of October 1, 2007, capital rose by 2.4 times to reach USD 3.614 million. BTA cleared USD487 million profit as of the reporting date, a double year-on-year increase.

The Europe Business Assembly (EBA, Oxford, UK) has named BTA ‘the Best Enterprise of Europe’ in the Eurasian banking sector.
