With a view to expanding the product line and increase the quality of products the companies processing agriculture products will implement more than 50 investment projects at the sum of more than Br400 billion by 2010, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said when speaking at a nationwide seminar for seniour officials of the national and local authorities, reported the Official website www.government.by.

The head of government noted the necessity to upgrade the companies of the packing, potato-processing, meat and dairy, grain processing and bakery industries in small and medium-sized towns. “The situation with the process of upgrading the packing and potato-processing causes some concern,” Sergei Sidorsky said. He underlined that an important area in processing farm products is the development of cooperation lines between manufacture and sales.

The Prime Minister noted that the low efficiency of the companies in small and medium-sized towns necessitates taking systemic measures to create up-to-date infrastructure making allowances for local specificity and resource base.
