OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2007. The rating list encompasses nearly 30 analytic teams operating on the Russian market. The winners were defined by the Experts’ Board basically consisting of heads of management companies and portfolio managers working in Russia.

At year-end of 2007, the analytic team of the Bank of Moscow is ranked sixth-seventh in the said rating list that means the team is placed 3 points up as compared to the last year.

Analysts of the Bank of Moscow were included in 8 categories from 11, among the best analysts were mentioned: Kiril Tremasov (Strategy), Vladimir Vedeneev (Current situation, Oil and Gas Sector, Bank Sector), Mikhail Lyamin (Mechanic Engineering, Transportation), Rostyslav Musienko (Telecommunications). All of them improved drastically their ranking in the rating list as against that of last year.

Among the top three analysts in their categories are Vladimir Vedeneev (Current situation, Oil and Gas Sector, Bank Sector), Mikhail Lyamin (Mechanic Engineering, Transportation).

Kirill Tremasov, Head of the Analytic Department, said: "The Analytic Department of the Bank of Moscow was established and packaged in full only one year ago, in October 2006, and in spite of a so short period we are ranked on high positions in the rating list that means we made a progress, undoubtedly.

At the same time, our goal is to be the best, and my opinion is that our team will be able reach this goal. Noteworthy, we were ranked in the RBC rating list, in which the winners are determined by representatives of heads of management companies. The point is, originally the Analytic team of the Bank of Moscow was established within the framework of Asset Management, and our analysts kept the mentality of "buy-side" analytics that makes them different from "sell-side" analytics as looking critically at the market, and having a more fundamental approach when elaborating recommendations. We try to avoid speculative and highly risky concepts, and focus our efforts on searching underestimate assets with a long-term growth potential. Our status as independent experts, as the Analytic Department of the Bank of Moscow is subordinated directly to the President of the Bank and not a part of the Capital Investment Department: such a corporate structure allows us to keep conservatism in our approaches while making any forecasting, and to avoid judgments based on the up-to-the-minute views. I think those experts who supported us when voting the rating list understood that and appreciate namely our conservatism and our cold-eye judgment of changes in the market".
