OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2007. On November 27, George Arveladze and David Tkeshelashvili held a joint news-conference, inviting businessmen to actively participate in the State Employment Program 2007-2008, the Georgian economy ministry disclosed.
According to the ministers, those companies which have vacancies and require personnel in different fields have to register in the Ministry of Economic Development, where more than 22 000 vacancies have already been submitted.

The Employment Program 2007-2008 envisages employment of 100 000 citizens from 25 to 60 years of age. Within the framework of the program the government ensures three months professional training for the staff, providing monthly allowance in the amount of 200 GEL per each person within the training period. Total cost of the program amounts to 60 M GEL. After completion of the training, all trainees will get chance to receive relevant jobs.

"Present situation can be named as structural unemployment, as country's economy grows more rapidly than labor resources. It means that we have vacancies but there isn’t enough respective professional staff.  This can be eradicated only by training, raising professional skills and knowledge and the government along with businessmen facilitates to this," George Arveladze said.

Starting from December 5, detailed information on places and forms of registration will officially be announced via mass media. According to David Tkeshelashvili registration offices will be opened in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Batumi and Poti.
