OREANDA-NEWS. December 5, 2007. 6 workers of JSC Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant (part of ESTAR Group) were awarded diplomas and Anosov prizes. The plant’s innovators won the city contest for the best invention and innovation.

The patent for organizing the production of hollow ingot was given to the engineering and technical group: Vladimir Demidov, QA director, Natalya Pavlova, head of the electroslag remelting – vacuum-arc remelting (ESR-VAR) group and Svetlana Artamonova, designer of Electric Steel Making Shop – 3 (ESMS-3). The development of hollow ingots production started at ZMP in late 2006. The enterprise staff was awarded a Silver Medal at the 13th International Industrial exhibition "Metal-Expo 2007” for the production technology.

According to the plant’s innovations and patents department, last year 136 authors presented their proposals. 84 out of 98 ideas are being used in practice. The economic effect of the innovations amounted to 44.126 mln rubles, with over 900 t of metal, about 4,000 t of refractories, 4,500 t of equivalent fuel and 704,000 kWt/h of electricity saved. The growth of metal production was over 22,000 t.
