OREANDA-NEWS. December 5, 2007. MDM Bank's 2006 Annual Report was named the best among Russian and CIS financial institutions at the 9th annual Best Annual Reports competition organized by Expert RA and MICEX with the support of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the bank's press service reported.

An expert panel reviewed 157 annual reports from Russia and the CIS, after which a special contest committee that included the President of the Russian Bankers’ Association, G. Tosunyan, the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, A. Shokhin and the General Director of MICEX, A. Potemkin selected the winners.

The Competition participants were judged primarily by the informational content of their annual reports. Other important factors included: inclusion of non-standard information that was interesting for potential readers, levels of disclosure about each of a company’s primary business lines, the depth of market analysis by product (service), competitive advantages, logical and rational report structure and presentation, and the absence of any superfluous information that inhibited readability. Compliance with Russian legal requirements and generally accepted international standards was also taken into account.
