OREANDA-NEWS. On December 05, 2007 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "Electrostal" Metallurgical Plant" OJSC ("MZ "Electrostal" OJSC) for breaching Clause 1 part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (setting monopolistically high prices), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was considered upon a petition of the "Salut" Moscow Machine-Building Works" State Federal Unitary Enterprise.

Allegedly "MZ "Electrostal" OJSC violated the antimonopoly legislation by setting in January - June 2007 monopolistically high prices of the blanks made from nickel-containing steels, used in aircraft engine manufacturing. Their chemical composition, end-use properties and welding conditions for aircraft engine manufacturing are unique and substitution is not available.

The case against "MZ "Electrostal" OJSC will be heard by the FAS Russia Commission on 26th December 2007.
