OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2007. Ukrtransnafta increased oil transportation 16.5% in the first 11 months of 2007 to 47.391 million tonnes compared to the same period a year earlier, company's press office reported. While the transit oil pumping for the period increased 22% to 36.867 million tonnes. The remaining 10.524 million tonnes were transported to the Ukrainian refineries. The Dnieper pipelines pumped 23.488 million tonnes of oil in January-November 2007 (13% more than in the same period of 2006). Druzhba main pipelines transported 21% more oil - 23.903 million tonnes. In November 2007 Ukrtransnafta OJSC transported 3.629 million tonnes - 22.9% more than in November 2006.

Ukrtransnafta OJSC is the national pipeline system operator in Ukraine. The company was established under the governmental order in June 2001 on the basis of two other smaller pipeline operating companies (they are now Ukrtransnafta's subsidiaries) - State Joint-Stock Company "Druzhba Oil Mains" and State Joint-Stock Company "Dnieper Oil Mains." As for now 100% stake in Ukrtransnafta is under control of National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine. Total length of Ukrtransnafta's pipelines is about 4,524km. The system capacity - 114 million tonnes of oil a year getting inside and 56.3 million tonnes of oil a year going outside. The system consists of 51 oil pumping stations and 11 crude storages that can receive concurrently more than 1 million cubic meters of oil.
