OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2007. During the conference dedicated to the 40th anniversary of TsNIIATOMINFORM, the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko said that Rosatom should seek to establish alliances with leading foreign companies.

This will strengthen Russia’s positions on the highly competitive world market.

“In 2008–2010 it is necessary to make a number of strategic decisions for strengthening our nuclear industry by means of creating alliances with leading Russian and foreign companies. This is a global trend,” Kiriyenko said.

“The key factor here is competition, where we can’t be the second. We must be the best if we want to do what we do. We must be able to work with partners not only abroad but also inside our country and must be ready for integration,” Kiriyenko said.

One of the key achievements of the Russian nuclear industry this year is the launch of the 1st and 2nd units of Tianwan NPP.

“This plant is the safest in the world due to effective combination of passive and active safety systems. It is the flagship of our cooperation with China and one of the key factors of our competitive success on the world market,” Kiriyenko said.
