OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2007. Specialists from SibCOTES took part in the Exhibition “Russian Transmission Facilities – 2007” held in All-Russia Exhibition Centre in Moscow on December 4-7.  SibCOTES presented its new software product made by the specialists of the Company –on-line information-and-control system, which allows the Customers to monitor and adjust the operation of both individual substations and whole power networks, when required. Using this system, a control engineer can receive full information about the state of the equipment and quickly respond to different situations.

To ensure the best safety, the commands from the on-line information-and-control system are carried out in several stages, and all actions of a control engineer – dispatcher are recorded in an electronic log book. By now, the on-line information-and-control system has been tried out, and nor it is used for a trial operation by the Division Eastern Power Supply Networks owned by RES. Computer workstations based on the software mentioned above are being used at Novosibirsk substations Bibliotechnaya and Olovozavodskaya, as well as at the ash disposal area No2 at Novosibirsk CHP-5 Plant.

According to the Chief Specialist from SibCOTES Grigory Bashkirtsev, specialists from different regions were interested in this innovation. In particular, joint work is currently being negotiated with one of the companies from Ekaterinburg. The on-line information-and-control system was developed in close collaboration with the operations personnel from the Eastern Power Supply Networks, which explains why all the information required by a control engineer – dispatcher had been taken into account. In addition, the cost of this system is much lower than the cost of similar products made by other companies.
