OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2007. OMZ Special Steels, a unit of OMZ-Oil and Gas Projects (Izhorskiye Zavody), a part of OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), announced about its receipt of a certificate by Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) for forgings made with carbon steels and carbon manganese steels with 230 tons maximum weight. The certificate is valid until 15 Nov., 2010.

Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) is an internationally known classification organization which was founded in 1861. It is a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).

The certificate confirms the high quality of OMZ Special Steels products developed for the shipbuilding industry.

OMZ Special Steels produces metallurgical semi-finished products made of steels with special properties designed for usage in machine building and other sectors. Among OMZ Special Steels' products are forgings, stampings, and plates made of various types of steels produced by the company.
