OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2007. OJSC TGC-9 is starting the implementation of one of the priority investment projects which is mentioned in a recently signed contract on provision of capacity to the wholesale market of energy. It is planned to construct an almost new power station with a capacity of 120MWt on the basis of Perm HPP-6, using the most up-to-date power equipment pieces and technologies, the press service of TGC-9 reported.

On December 17, 2007 OJSC TGC-9, the Sweden concern Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (Switzerland) and Siemens Ltd. (the Russian Department of Siemens) concluded the equipment delivery contract. In accordance with the contract Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB and Siemens Ltd. shall deliver the power equipment, provide the project designing, designing of foundation, testing and putting equipment into operation, training of HPP-6 personnel.

It is planned that a separate steam and gas unit (two gas turbines, two recovery boilers, steam turbine) with capacity of 120MWt will be installed in a new specially constructed building. Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB is to deliver the gas turbines of SGT-800 brand (45MWt), recovery boilers and steam turbine SST-600 (28,3MWt). According to the schedule, the new generating equipment shall be put into operation on June 3, 2010.

It is expected that as a result of this investment project the capacity of Perm HPP-6 will increase from 57MWt to 180MWt, at that the annual energy output will make about 1000mln kWth, the heat energy output - about 2200 thousand Gcal per year. The efficiency of fuel resources usage will increase. It means that Perm will get the energy for development, heat and electricity for buildings and micro-districts being under construction, as well as for developing production facilities. The power supply reliability will increase.

Perm HPP-6 is one of the critical sources of energy for the City of Perm, providing the residents of Sverdlovsk, Lenin and Motovilikha districts with heat, as well as the largest manufacturing enterprises of the city. The power station was put into operation in 1942. This year it celebrated its 65 anniversary. The necessity of reconstruction of Perm HPP-6 is dictated by several factors. Today there is energy shortage in Perm-Zakamsk power node and it needs the urgent development of generation. The issue concerning the perspective demand in heat energy is also vital for Perm. The heat capacity reserves of Perm HPP-6 are almost depleted. In connection to this fact, OJSC TGC-9 is implementing the installation of the new water boilers at Perm HPP-6.
