OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2007. President of Turkmenistan received Dragon Oil top managers - Chairman of the Dragon Oil Board of Directors Hussein Sultan, Director Dragon Oil Mazen Ali and General Manager in Turkmenistan Timofei Singuy.

Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting the guests cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on the coming New Year and addressed the wishes of happiness, peace and wellbeing to the Turkmen people.

Informing the Turkmen leader of the results of the company’s collaboration with the Turkmen partners the top managers reported that the company had reached the 1.5-million oil production level on the last days of the current year. In 2008, the company intended to increase oil production to 2 million tons.

Highly appreciating co-operation with the Dragon Oil Company Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that the company had given no occasion to doubt its excellent reputation and become one of Turkmenistan’s reliable partners in development of the national oil and gas industry. That was vividly evidenced by the joint project on construction of an oil-gathering station in Khazar town.

Reaffirming the readiness to steadily intensify mutually advantageous collaboration Mr. Hussein Sultan informed that the specialists had prepared the proposals on construction of an associated gas recovery unit.

The guest informed that following the Turkmen leader’s instructions the Dragon Oil Company had carried out the preparations for construction of a desalination unit in Khazar town. The Dragon Oil CEO said that the construction works would be started in the nearest future.

The guests assured the President of Turkmenistan of their firm intention to expand and intensify traditional co-operation and presented a number of the proposals to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

Welcoming the company’s initiatives Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that its experience of operating on the Turkmen market could set a positive example for the potential partners of Turkmenistan – foreign investors and oil and gas companies offering the advanced technologies and showing intense interest in co-operation in development of the abundant hydrocarbon resources in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
