OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2007. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed the law on the budget for 2008 on December 26, 2007.

The revenues of the national budget will make up Br38.15 trillion. In 2008, the tax burden will be reduced as five compulsory payments will be abolished.

The expenses of the national budget will reach Br40.34 trillion. Most expenditures are expenses on social sphere.

In 2008, the state special-purpose funds will include the national fund for support of agricultural producers, the national road fund, the national environmental protection fund, the national development fund, the fund of universal services, innovation funds, the recoverable resources fund.

The deficit of the 2008national budget is projects at Br2.19 trillion, or 1.9% of GDP. The deficit will be financed using internal and external resources.

In line with the document, an increase in the national debt of Belarus can not exceed 3% of GDP. The document sets the limit on the foreign state debt at $6 billion by the end of 2008.
