OREANDA-NEWS. January 9, 2008. A pilot complex at Bratsk gas condensate filed (the Irkutsk region) has been commissioned on December 25, the Itera's press service reported. It will supply blue-sky fuel for paper-pulp industry, municipal transport and utility facilities in Bratsk as well as few towns in the Irkutsk region. The reserves of Bratsk gas condensate field are estimated as 10.7 BBCM of gas and 1.4 MMT of gas condensate. Once the field achieves the design capacity the annual gas production will be 430 MMCM.

The license for production is held by ОАО Bratskecogas (78.9% shares held by ITERA Oil and Gas Company, 21.1% held by Bratsk Administration). During the meeting dedicated to the event, the Chairman of the Management Board of ITERA Oil and Gas Company Mr. V. Makeev stressed that Bratsk field is a pilot project in the Eastern Siberia gasification program which had been commissioned as a result of close cooperation between ITERA, Gazprom and Irkutsk region Administration. He emphasized that putting into operation the field and pipelines was part of implementation of the Irkutsk general gasification plan contemplated by the national project of Russian region gasification. This, as he said, would have a positive effect on the economic growth and improve the local living conditions.

The main gas pipeline was commission at the same day connecting Bratsk gas condensate field with the gas distribution facility built by Tomsltransgas, a Gasprom subsidiary.The ceremony was attended by plenipotentiary representative of the Russian President in Siberian Federal Okrug Mr. Anatoly Kvashnin.
