OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2007. "Megafon" OJSC transferred to the federal budget over 55 mln. Rubles of illegal income, obtained by violating the antimonopoly legislation, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In October 2006, FAS Russia recognized that "Megafon" OJSC violated Article 6 of the Law "On Competition and Restricting Monopolistic Activity on the Goods Markets". In accordance with the issued determinations, "Megafon" OJSC should have undertaken actions to terminate violations of the antimonopoly legislation as well as should have transferred the illegal income, obtained by violating the law, to the federal budget. "Megafon" OJSC was supposed to report to FAS Russia on executing the determination by 25th December 2006.

However, as "Megafon" OJSC appealed to the Arbitration Court against the decision and determination issued by FAS Russia, they were suspended. After the Arbitration Courts of all instances confirmed validity of the FAS Russia's decision and determination, they finally came into force.

Earlier, "Megafon" OJSC was fined 400.000 Rubles for failure to execute a determination issued by the antimonopoly authority.

Currently FAS Russia is carrying out a comparative check of the amount of transferred funds with primary accounting data of "Megafon" OJSC and data provided by other market participants.
