OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2008. OJSC VolgaTelecom paid off and paid accrued interest on registered interest bearing uncertified bonds of 8-U series, the company's press service informs. The total payment to the bonds holders amounted to RUR 1 004 465,00. The total size of 8-U series bonds yield amounted to RUR 4 465,00 and the yield per a bond – RUR 8,93. The Company performed its obligation in full.

8-U series bonds of the par value of RUR 2 000 each were registered by Russia’s Federal Financial Markets Service on October 25, 2002; state registration number - 4-40-00137-А. The quantity of issued securities is 500 bonds. The repayment period - from October 1, 2007 to December 30, 2007.

8-U series bonds were placed within the framework of regional communication operators’ affiliation to OJSC VolgaTelecom by converting registered uncertified bonds of 10 series of OJSC “Electrosvyaz of Ulyanovsk oblast” (state registration number 4-10-00187-А) into 8-U series bonds; the bonds were converted with 1 to 1 ratio.

In addition, on January 3, 2008 OJSC VolgaTelecom set to pay off registered uncertified bonds of 9-U series (registered by Russia’s FFMS on October 25, 2002; state registration number - 4-41-00137-А). The date when the issuer’s obligations should be performed is March 30, 2008.

The total amount of yield on 9-U series bonds is determined to be RUR 4 400,00 and the size of yield per a bond – RUR 8,80. The bond yield is charged for the period from the start date of the bonds placement by the issuer to the date of filing the application for the bond retirement. The application for the bonds retirement may be filed on any day during the retirement period and in this connection the total amount of the bonds yield will be adjusted as of the end date of the bonds repayment period.
