OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2007. Research and technological Center Nefteotdacha plans to construct an ore-dressing mill and a plant for the production of glass containers at the Pisarevsky deposit in the Ardatovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, reported the press-centre of Nefteotdacha.

On December 5, 2007 these plans were approved by the investment council at the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region. One of founders of the center, Aleksandr Sitnikov, said that the project will be completed by 2011, investments will stand at around RUR4,7bln.

Reserves of the Pisarevskoy quartz glass sand deposit are estimated 45mln tonnes. The company plans to mine at the deposit 1mln tonnes of sand per year, of which 240,000 tonnes - for own plant with capacity of 1.2bln bottles per year. Technical Director of the center Vadim Shadrunov said, sands of the Pisarevsky deposit can be used for food and pharmaceutical industry.

Aleksandra Sitnikov said, NTTS Nefteotdacha plans to supply mined sand to AGC BSZ (Bor glass works) and to others.

Experts explain intentions of the company to produce at one plant both glass for food industry anddrugs by desire to reduce production costs, Kommersant - Nizhny Novgorod said.
