OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2007. “Over 190, 000 people used the universal services of public access outlets (PAO) in 2006, with 237, 000 for the first half-year 2007,” said I. Syrtsov, FSUE Russian Post General Director within the framework of the conference “Universal communications services. Technologies. Economy. Regulatory legal aspects. Law-enforcement actions on allocation and implementation of resource enumeration”, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

The event took place in sttl. Olginka, Krasnodar territory.

In his report on FSUE Russian Post’s universal services as data communication and Internet access in PAO I. It helps to provide high-speed Internet access for 25 thousand PAO planned to be set in offices in 2008 including 16 thousand units under the Contract on Universal Communications Services.

“As national postal operator Russian Post realizes the responsibility in the social project aiming at overcoming digital disparity in different regions of our country. That is why post sets up PAO even in the remote regions with no post offices in them,” said I. Syrtsov.
